Meet the marketing people behind My Marketing Person...
After completing a law degree in the UK, David decided not to become a lawyer but to set up his own business. After five years in the small business world, David swapped to the corporate world, taking a sales position in publishing company John Wiley & Sons which took him around the UK and Europe, later moving to a subsidiary of Thomson in an international sales role.
Before moving to Australia in 2000 he worked in London for a printing company and was involved in helping the company set up an internet-based print broking service. Bitten by the dot com bug, he arrived in Sydney just in time to see the dot com bubble burst at first hand working at an internet startup, and subsequently worked as a sales/marketing contractor for a number of startups.
It was while working in a (primarily) sales role for a new retail franchise he realised the power of online marketing and public relations techniques, implementing programs which resulted in the company achieving a high profile in the industry, with one publicity strategy alone netting the company around $450,000 in revenue.
Since this experience David has helped many SME (small medium enterprise) business clients devise and implement successful marketing and public relations campaigns to raise their profiles and expand their operations.
